A Day Away....

So the Mr. has been working extra side jobs for the past few months. And while we are Thankful to God for the extra income, we have been super busy with it all.

So for the Mister's birthday we decided to spend a day away.   So last Friday, we had planned  on getting everything all ready and packed when we had an extended family emergency.  The Mr. had landed another side job that he was sure he would have done Friday night, but as circumstance would have it. It wasn't done until mid Saturday morning. 

I'd say around 11am Saturday morning we finally were headed out to our favorite place to be. Lancaster County.  We arrived to the our camper, made sure the heat was working and did a quick set up. We can only stay one night b/c we have no access to water right now at the campground.  But that's OK, we only needed one night/day to spend as a family and get some good quality time in. :)

We went for dinner, did a Wal-Mart run and the back to camper for games, snuggling and a few hours of Little House on The Prairie. :)

Sunday morning around 6:30 am we awoke to the heater turning on and off. That translates to, we ran out of propane!! Burr... we headed off to get more before the kids realized it was cold in the camper! :)  After coming back with the propane for heat, we had our coffee outside, while Amish buggy after Amish buggy drove past, as they headed to their church services.

We then woke the kids and headed out to church ourselves. What a wonderful time of refreshment!!!  We were invited to stay for a lunch fellowship and had a great time.

We went for a hike in the brisk air, headed back to our home away from home for a wee little nap, and then packed up to head home again.

But for dh's birthday we stopped at Cracker Barrel for supper, and we're met by dh's cousin and his family.

All in all we had  a wonderful weekend. We came home with 14 gallons of raw milk.  And refreshed souls.

Hubby was in an accident....

Proverbs 31 11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. The blaring ring of the phone woke me on Tuesday morning... 7:15am... I knew as soon as I looked at the clock, something was wrong. No one calls here that early.. I quickly peel a child out of my arms and trying to not wake her, before the phone does. She had a restless night. "hello" in a whisper.. as I was still in my bedroom. Walking out of my room, I hear my darling hubbys nervous voice, "I was in an accident" Me, "Are you ok"... Him, "yes" Me" do you need me to come?" Him, "no, I'll call you" He explained what happened. His company truck was pretty messed up, and the air bags went off. He said he had some airbag burn, felt ok, just stressed. Home Love Hammock Style

This lovely gift was a 21st wedding anniversary present from my lovely husband.  I absolutely love this thing.. For many reasons...  My hammock brings me peace.   Why??  Because I love to be outside and be in nature.   So everyday weather and schedule permitting I try and get on my hammock.  It's bring me closer to my children.  They will see me out there and come out and lay with me on it.  From my 17 year old on down to my 5 year old.  My 17 year old and I have had the best chats just laying and swinging on that thing.  My youngest daughters 13, and soon to be 10 will bring their books out and  just veg and read with me.  My 5 year old will crawl up on that and just snuggle and chat with me, eventually giving way to the peacefulness of outside and fall asleep in my arms. My grandbabies will cuddle with grammy  and let me read or just hold them.  I have even had my best girlfriends come over and join me on that thing and we are able to relax and fr
