A Day Away....

So the Mr. has been working extra side jobs for the past few months. And while we are Thankful to God for the extra income, we have been super busy with it all. So for the Mister's birthday we decided to spend a day away.   So last Friday, we had planned  on getting everything all ready and packed when we had an extended family emergency.  The Mr. had landed another side job that he was sure he would have done Friday night, but as circumstance would have it. It wasn't done until mid Saturday morning.  I'd say around 11am Saturday morning we finally were headed out to our favorite place to be. Lancaster County.  We arrived to the our camper, made sure the heat was working and did a quick set up. We can only stay one night b/c we have no access to water right now at the campground.  But that's OK, we only needed one night/day to spend as a family and get some good quality time in. :) We went for dinner, did a Wal-Mart run and the back to campe...

Prepared for bad weather?

      For the New Year, we decided we would head out to our most favorite place to be. Our camper in Lancaster Pennsylvania. We  did a bowling party with the kids to bring in the New Year, spent the night in our toasty warm camper, went to an awesome breakfast buffet at Yoder's, ate like little piglets, picked up some delicious raw milk, walked the creek and then headed home.    You see, we are preparing for a storm here.   I'm prepared as far as food goes. But we had to prepare the house and Big Daddy.   We only heat our home with firewood. That means a lot of it  had to be brought in.  We had two kids working on that. They are saying this will be the coldest our state has seen in several years.     While I make sure the house is well stocked with food,  And I get out those snow suits, hats, gloves, the drying rack, boots, sleds, thermos' .. etc. etc. Big Daddy is preparing the truck...

Hubby was in an accident....

Proverbs 31 11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. The blaring ring of the phone woke me on Tuesday morning... 7:15am... I knew as soon as I looked at the clock, something was wrong. No one calls here that early.. I quickly peel a child out of my arms and trying to not wake her, before the phone does. She had a restless night. "hello" in a whisper.. as I was still in my bedroom. Walking out of my room, I hear my darling hubbys nervous voice, "I was in an accident" Me, "Are you ok"... Him, "yes" Me" do you need me to come?" Him, "no, I'll call you" He explained what happened. His company truck was pretty messed up, and the air bags went off. He said he had some airbag burn, felt ok, just stressed. Next call I got was from him in the police car, the officer was kind enough to drop him off at work. The convers...
